Cyprus, with its Mediterranean climate and attractive tax incentives, has become an appealing destination for digital nomads. The country has introduced a digital nomad visa scheme to cater to this growing community. Here's how to obtain a digital nomad visa for Cyprus:
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Cyprus digital nomad visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a non-EU or non-EEA national.
- Work remotely using telecommunications technology.
- Work for a company registered outside of Cyprus or be self-employed offering services to clients located outside of Cyprus.
- Earn a minimum gross monthly income of €3,500.
- Have valid medical insurance.
- Have a clean criminal record.
Required Documents
To apply for the digital nomad visa, you will need to prepare the following documents:
- Completed application form ( available on the official website ).
- Copy of a valid passport.
- CV detailing employment history.
- Proof of remote work, such as an employment contract or invoices from clients.
- Bank statements showing a minimum gross monthly income of €3,500.
- Medical insurance certificate.
- Clean criminal record certificate.
- Housing lease agreement or sale contract.
Application Process
The application process for the Cyprus digital nomad visa is straightforward. Here are the steps to follow:
- Gather all required documents.
- Fill out the application form.
- Submit the application form and supporting documents to the Civil Registry and Migration Department.
- Pay the application fee.
- Wait for the processing of your application. The processing time can take up to 7 weeks.
If your application is successful, you will be granted a residence permit valid for one year, with the option to renew for an additional two years.
