By Joshua Wood, LPC

Summary: Mississippi is not a particularly popular destination for digital nomads. The most popular cities for digital nomads in Mississippi are Jackson, Gulfport, and Hattiesburg. The culture of Mississippi is diverse and vibrant. It is known for its music, art, and cuisine. Mississippi is also home to a variety of outdoor activities, such as fishing, hunting, and camping.

What are healthcare services like in Mississippi?

When we asked expats and global nomads about the quality of medical care in Mississippi, they replied:

"Mississippi offers a wide range of healthcare services, including primary care, specialty care, mental health services, and preventive care. The state is home to a number of hospitals and medical facilities, including the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, which is the state's only academic medical center. Other major hospitals in the state include Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Merit Health Central in Jackson, and Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Mississippi also has a number of rural health clinics and community health centers that provide care to underserved populations," wrote one digital nomad living in Mississippi.

What are the pros and cons of living in Mississippi?

"People who live in Mississippi often enjoy the state's rich culture and history, as well as its beautiful landscapes and friendly people. Many people also appreciate the low cost of living and the abundance of outdoor activities available. On the other hand, some people may find the hot and humid summers to be uncomfortable, and the lack of public transportation can be inconvenient," explained one digital nomad living in Mississippi.
