What do people appreciate most about the culture in Ivory Coast?
"The streets are so active, day and night. I think the Ivoiriens are a particularly handsome people, and I love their sense of style - beautiful fabric made into shirts for the men and pagnes for the women. People make an effort to look their best here, from educated business people to produce vendors on the side of the road. And although I have, as a blonde-haired, blue-eyed white woman, definitely been the recipient of many long looks, I have never felt threatened in any way," explained one expat living in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
"most people turn out to be helpful, very friendly and very open with their opinions. it's a vivid and colourful culture. i like that there is city life (where you can almost live up to western standards) but also still very traditional ways of living in the villages. it`s interesting to get to know all the problems they have to develop and how much everything changed after the crisis," said one person in Abidjan.
"Expats in Ivory Coast appreciate the warm hospitality of the local people, the vibrant culture and the beautiful landscapes. They also enjoy the delicious cuisine, the vibrant nightlife and the diverse range of activities available. What are healthcare services like in Ivory Coast?
When we asked expats and global nomads about the quality of medical care in Ivory Coast, they replied:
"Healthcare services in Ivory Coast are provided by both public and private institutions. The public healthcare system is largely funded by the government and is available to all citizens. However, the quality of public healthcare is generally considered to be low, with limited access to medical supplies and equipment. Foreign residents are able to access the public healthcare system, but they may be required to pay for some services. Expats in Ivory Coast typically use private healthcare services, as they are more reliable and offer better quality care. However, some expats may use the public healthcare system if they are unable to afford private care," remarked one member in Ivory Coast.
