The state is home to some of the best hospitals and medical facilities in the country, including Yale New Haven Hospital, Hartford Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. These hospitals offer a variety of services, from emergency care to cancer treatment to rehabilitation. In addition, Connecticut has numerous community health centers, which provide comprehensive primary care services to underserved populations. These centers are located throughout the state, with the majority located in urban areas," commented a person living in Connecticut.
What is the quality of medical care in Connecticut like?

"Connecticut offers a wide range of medical services to its residents. The state has a number of hospitals, clinics, and medical centers that provide comprehensive care for a variety of medical needs. Connecticut also has a number of specialty care centers that provide specialized care for specific medical conditions. Additionally, the state has a number of mental health and substance abuse treatment centers that provide care for those struggling with mental health and addiction issues. Connecticut also has a number of home health care services that provide care for those who are unable to leave their homes," remarked one member in Connecticut.
Are healthcare and health insurance expensive in Connecticut?
"Healthcare and health insurance in Connecticut can be expensive. The cost of health insurance premiums in Connecticut is higher than the national average, and the cost of healthcare services can also be high. Additionally, Connecticut has some of the highest out-of-pocket costs for healthcare services in the country. As a result, many people in Connecticut struggle to afford the cost of healthcare and health insurance," explained one digital nomad living in Connecticut.
What are emergency services like in Connecticut?

"In Connecticut, emergency services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To call for an ambulance, dial 911 from any phone. The operator will ask for your location and the nature of the emergency. The operator will then dispatch an ambulance to the scene. Emergency medical personnel will arrive to provide medical assistance and transport the patient to the nearest hospital," remarked one member in Connecticut.
Will I need to travel to see a specialist?
"Connecticut's major cities, including Hartford, Bridgeport, Waterbury, and New Haven, offer a wide range of medical specialists. The suburban towns of Greenwich, Stamford, and Danbury also have a good selection of medical specialists. The cities of West Hartford, Fairfield, and New Britain offer a variety of specialists that are well-regarded in the medical community. Additionally, the rural towns of Litchfield and Tolland counties have access to well-respected specialists with many years of experience," explained one digital nomad living in Connecticut.
Are common prescription medications available in Connecticut?
"Yes, common prescription medications are available in Connecticut. Most pharmacies in the state carry a wide variety of medications, including those for common conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and depression. Many pharmacies also offer generic versions of brand-name medications, which can be more affordable for patients. Additionally, many pharmacies offer free delivery services for those who are unable to pick up their medications in person," wrote one digital nomad living in Connecticut.

"Medical care in Connecticut is of high quality, with many fine hospitals, clinics, and physicians providing outstanding medical care. Connecticut has among the best medical outcomes in the United States and a wide range of specialties and treatments available. Additionally, the state is home to some of the nation's top medical research facilities, medical centers, and teaching hospitals. Overall, patients in Connecticut can expect that they will receive a high standard of medical care," remarked one member in Connecticut.
As a foreigner living in Connecticut, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?
"Yes, as a foreigner living in Connecticut, you will have access to public healthcare. Connecticut has a Medicaid program, which provides health coverage to low-income individuals and families. The program covers a wide range of services, including doctor visits, hospital stays, prescription drugs, and mental health services. In addition, Connecticut also has a Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) that provides health coverage to children in families with incomes too high to qualify for Medicaid. The quality of care provided by public healthcare in Connecticut is generally good, and the cost is usually much lower than private insurance," said one digital nomad in Connecticut.
