What are the most challenging aspects of retiring in Malta?

"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Malta is the cost of living, which is higher than in many other countries. Additionally, the language barrier can be difficult for those who do not speak Maltese, as English is not widely spoken outside of the main tourist areas. The climate can also be a challenge, as Malta is known for its hot and humid summers. Finally, the healthcare system in Malta is not as comprehensive as in other countries, so retirees may need to purchase additional health insurance to cover any medical needs," said a retiree who moved to Malta.
