Additionally, the country offers a wide range of housing options, from traditional homes to modern apartments. Renting a home in Uzbekistan can also be a good option, as it allows you to experience the country without the commitment of buying a home. Renting can also be a great way to explore different neighborhoods and find the perfect place to live. Ultimately, the decision to buy or rent a home in Uzbekistan depends on your individual needs and preferences," said one expat in Uzbekistan.
What do I need to know when buying property in Uzbekistan?
When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Uzbekistan, they said:

It is advisable to hire a local lawyer to assist with the purchase process and to ensure that all legal requirements are met. 4. It is also important to be aware of the local tax laws and regulations, as well as any restrictions on foreign ownership of property. 6. It is advisable to obtain a survey of the property before making any purchase. 7. It is important to be aware of any potential risks associated with the purchase, such as environmental hazards or political instability. 8. It is also important to be aware of any potential restrictions on the use of the property, such as zoning regulations or restrictions on the type of activities that can be conducted on the property," explained one person living in Uzbekistan.
Are foreigners allowed to own property in Uzbekistan?
When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Uzbekistan, they said...
"Foreigners are allowed to own property in Uzbekistan, but there are certain restrictions in place. Foreigners are not allowed to own land, but they can own buildings and other types of real estate. Foreigners must obtain a special permit from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to purchase real estate in Uzbekistan. Additionally, foreign companies are allowed to own property in Uzbekistan, but they must register with the Ministry of Justice and obtain a special license," said one expat in Uzbekistan.
What appliances are typically included in a rental?
We asked foreigners in Uzbekistan what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:
"In Uzbekistan, rental properties typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, and washing machine. Other common appliances may include a microwave, dishwasher, and air conditioning unit. Depending on the property, additional amenities such as a television, internet connection, and furniture may also be included," said one in Uzbekistan.
