Summary: An expat looking to buy a home in Cameroon should begin by researching the local real estate market. They should look for listings on websites such as Lamudi, Jumia House, and ImmoCameroun. It is also important to contact a local real estate agent who can provide more information about the area and the available properties. Homes in Cameroon typically include basic amenities such as running water, electricity, and a kitchen. Many homes also have a garden, a terrace, and a garage. Foreigners are allowed to own property in Cameroon, but they must obtain a permit from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization. The permit must be renewed every five years.

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:

"Finding a place to live in Cameroon can be a challenge, but there are a few options available. One option is to look for rental properties online, such as on websites like Expat.com or Global Property Guide. You can also search for rental properties in local newspapers or contact real estate agents in the area.
