Byron Bay is a popular tourist destination, but it's important to respect the locals. Avoid being overly loud or disruptive, especially in residential areas. Also, respect local customs and traditions, such as removing your shoes before entering certain places. In terms of beach etiquette, always swim between the red and yellow flags, as these areas are patrolled by lifeguards. Don't drop in on someone else's wave while surfing, which is considered very rude. Finally, Byron Bay has a strong community spirit, so try to support local businesses rather than big chains.
