"One of the best ways to find a place to live in Cardiff is to use online resources such as Rightmove, Zoopla, and Gumtree. These websites allow you to search for properties in the area and filter your results based on your budget, desired location, and other criteria. Additionally, you can contact local estate agents who can help you find a suitable property. You can also look for rental properties in local newspapers and on notice boards in the area. Finally, you can ask friends and family if they know of any available properties," remarked one foreigner who made the move to Cardiff.

What do I need to know before moving to Cardiff?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Cardiff, they said:

"Before retiring in Cardiff, expats should be aware of the cost of living, which is slightly higher than the UK average. They should also research the local healthcare system and the availability of medical services. Additionally, expats should familiarize themselves with the local culture and customs, as well as the climate and weather conditions. It is also important to research the local job market and the availability of leisure activities. "Expatriates in Cardiff appreciate the city's vibrant culture, which is a mix of Welsh and English influences. They enjoy the city's rich history, which dates back to Roman times, and its many attractions, such as Cardiff Castle and the National Museum of Wales. Expats also appreciate the city's friendly locals, who are always willing to help out newcomers. Cardiff is also known for its lively nightlife, with plenty of pubs, clubs, and restaurants to explore. Finally, expats appreciate the city's excellent transport links, which make it easy to explore the rest of Wales and the UK," said one person in Cardiff.

What residency documents or visas did I need if I will be in Cardiff for a while?
