Where should I live in Arabian Ranches?
We asked digital nomads and expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:
"Finding a place to live in Arabian Ranches, involves several steps. First, you need to determine your budget and the type of property you're interested in. Arabian Ranches offers a variety of options, from apartments to villas, so you should have a clear idea of what you're looking for. Next, you should research the area. Arabian Ranches is a large residential community located on the outskirts of Dubai, so you should familiarize yourself with the amenities, schools, and transportation options in the area. Once you have a clear idea of what you're looking for, you can start your property search. There are several online real estate portals that list properties for rent or sale in Arabian Ranches, such as Bayut, Property Finder, and Dubizzle. These websites allow you to filter properties by type, price, and location, making it easier to find properties that match your criteria. You can also hire a real estate agent to help you with your search. A local agent will have in-depth knowledge of the Arabian Ranches market and can help you find properties that may not be listed online. They can also assist you with the negotiation and purchase process. Once you've found a property you're interested in, you should arrange a viewing. This will give you a chance to inspect the property in person and ask any questions you may have. If you decide to proceed with the property, you'll need to negotiate the terms of the lease or purchase agreement. This will include the price, the length of the lease (if renting), and any other conditions. Finally, once the agreement is signed, you'll need to arrange for the transfer of utilities and move into your new home in Arabian Ranches," remarked one member in Arabian Ranches.

What do people find most challenging about the culture in Arabian Ranches?
"Expats in Arabian Ranches, often find the language barrier to be a significant challenge, as Arabic is the official language and not everyone is fluent in English. The strict adherence to Islamic customs and traditions can also be difficult for some to adjust to, particularly in terms of dress code and behavior in public. The extreme heat during the summer months can be physically challenging for those not accustomed to such climates. Additionally, the hierarchical nature of Emirati society, where age and position are highly respected, can be a cultural adjustment for expats. Lastly, the restrictions on alcohol consumption and the prohibition of pork can also be challenging for some expats," said one expat in Arabian Ranches.
What residency documents or visas did I need if I will be in Arabian Ranches for a while?
"If you are planning to stay in Arabian Ranches for an extended period, you will need to secure a few important documents. Firstly, you will need a valid passport with at least six months' validity from the date of entry into the UAE. If you are not a citizen of one of the countries that are exempt from visa requirements, you will need to apply for a UAE visa. The type of visa you need depends on the purpose of your visit. If you are going for work, you will need a work visa, which your employer usually arranges. If you are going for a long-term visit, you might need a long-term visit visa. If you plan to reside in the UAE, you will need a UAE residence visa. This can be sponsored by a family member who is a resident in the UAE, or by a company if you are employed. In addition, you will also need an Emirates ID card, which is a legal requirement for all UAE residents, including expatriates. This card is issued by the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) and contains your personal details. Lastly, if you plan to drive in the UAE, you will need a UAE driving license. If you have an international driving license, you can use it for the first three months of your stay. After that, you will need to apply for a local driving license. Please note that the requirements may vary depending on your nationality, so it's always best to check with the UAE embassy or consulate in your home country before your departure," said one person in Arabian Ranches.

What cultural blunders should I try to avoid making in Arabian Ranches?
We asked people in Arabian Ranches if they could share any humorous cultural blunders they commited. They wrote:
"In Arabian Ranches, it's important to respect the local customs and traditions. Avoid public displays of affection, as they are considered inappropriate and can even be illegal. Dress modestly, especially in public places, covering your shoulders and knees. Do not consume alcohol in public places, as it is only allowed in licensed venues. Avoid using your left hand for eating or passing objects, as it is considered unclean. Do not take photographs of people, especially women, without their permission. It's also considered disrespectful to show the soles of your shoes or feet. During the holy month of Ramadan, refrain from eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours. Always ask permission before entering a mosque and remember to remove your shoes. Avoid making negative comments about the royal family or the government, as it is considered a serious offense. Also, avoid discussing sensitive topics such as politics, religion, and sex. Remember that the weekend in UAE is Friday and Saturday, not Saturday and Sunday as in many Western countries. Lastly, always be punctual for meetings and appointments, as it is a sign of respect," explained one expat living in Arabian Ranches, the UAE.
