The locals are friendly and welcoming, and the town is well-connected with the rest of Fiji, making it easy to explore the rest of the country," remarked one member in Savusavu.

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Savusavu, they said:

Before making the move, it is important to understand the cost of living, the availability of healthcare, and the local culture. Expats should also research the local climate and the availability of amenities such as supermarkets, banks, and transportation. Additionally, it is important to understand the visa requirements for living in Fiji, as well as the local laws and regulations. Finally, expats should make sure to familiarize themselves with the local language, as English is not widely spoken in Savusavu," explained one person living in Savusavu, Fiji.

What do people appreciate most about the culture in Savusavu?

"Expats in Savusavu appreciate the laid-back atmosphere and the friendly locals. They also enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the area, with its lush rainforest, white sand beaches, and crystal clear waters. "It's picturesque and quirky. We love our surroundings, which to be honest, keeps reminding us why we moved here. We have met some lovely people, despite the crooks," explained one expat living in Savusavu, Fiji.

English is not widely spoken in the area, so it can be difficult for expats to communicate with locals. "Savusavu, offers a range of healthcare services to cater to the needs of both locals and visitors. The town has a public hospital, the Savusavu Sub-Divisional Hospital, which provides basic medical care, including emergency services, general medicine, and maternity care. There are also a few private clinics and pharmacies in the area, offering additional healthcare options. While the healthcare facilities in Savusavu may not be as advanced as those in larger cities, they are generally well-equipped to handle common health issues and minor emergencies. For more specialized care or serious medical conditions, patients may need to travel to larger hospitals in cities like Suva or Nadi," explained one person living in Savusavu, Fiji.

What are the pros and cons of living in Savusavu?
