"One of the best ways to find a place to live in Lagos is to search online for rental listings. Websites such as Idealista, Imovirtual, and BPI Expresso offer a wide variety of rental listings in the area. Additionally, you can also search for rental listings on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Additionally, you can also contact local real estate agents who specialize in the area to help you find a suitable place to live. Finally, you can also ask friends and family who live in the area for recommendations," explained one person living in Lagos, Portugal.

What do I need to know before moving to Lagos?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Lagos, they said:

"Before retiring in Lagos, expats should be aware of the cost of living, which is higher than in many other parts of the country. Additionally, expats should research the local healthcare system and ensure that they have access to the medical care they need. It is also important to familiarize oneself with the local culture and customs, as well as the Portuguese language. What residency documents or visas did I need if I will be in Lagos for a while?

"If you plan to stay in Lagos for a while, you will need to apply for a residence permit. Depending on your nationality, you may need to apply for a Schengen visa in order to enter the country. Once you have arrived in Portugal, you will need to register with the local authorities and obtain a residence card. This card will allow you to stay in the country for a certain period of time," said one expat in Lagos.
