Where should I live in Najran?
We asked digital nomads and expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:
"Finding a place to live in Najran, involves several steps. Firstly, you need to determine your budget. This will help you narrow down your options and make your search more efficient. Next, you should decide on the type of accommodation you want. This could be an apartment, a house, or a villa. Each type of accommodation has its own advantages and disadvantages, so you should consider your needs and preferences carefully. Once you have a clear idea of what you're looking for, you can start your search. There are several online platforms where you can find listings for properties in Najran, such as Bayut, Propertyfinder, and expatriates.com. These websites allow you to filter your search based on location, price, size, and other factors. You can also consider hiring a real estate agent to help you with your search. They can provide you with expert advice and help you navigate the local real estate market. When you find a property that you're interested in, you should arrange a viewing. This will give you a chance to inspect the property and ask any questions you might have. If you're satisfied with the property, you can then proceed to negotiate the terms of the lease with the landlord. This will include the rent, the duration of the lease, and any other conditions. Once you've agreed on the terms, you'll need to sign a lease agreement. This is a legally binding document that outlines the terms of your tenancy, so you should read it carefully before signing. Finally, you'll need to pay a deposit and the first month's rent. Once this is done, you can move into your new home in Najran. Remember, it's important to do your research and take your time when looking for a place to live. This will help you find a property that suits your needs and budget," explained one person living in Najran, Saudi Arabia.

What cultural blunders should I try to avoid making in Najran?
We asked people in Najran if they could share any humorous cultural blunders they commited. They wrote:
"In Najran, it is considered disrespectful to refuse hospitality, such as food or drink, when it is offered to you. Public displays of affection between men and women are frowned upon due to the conservative nature of Saudi Arabian society. It is also considered inappropriate to discuss politics or criticize the Saudi royal family or government. Women are expected to dress modestly, covering their hair, arms, and legs. Men should also dress conservatively, avoiding shorts and sleeveless shirts. It is considered rude to show the soles of your feet or shoes to others, as this is seen as a sign of disrespect. During the holy month of Ramadan, eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours is considered disrespectful. It is also important to avoid making negative comments about Islam, as Saudi Arabia is a deeply religious country. Taking photographs of people, especially women, without their permission is considered disrespectful and can lead to serious consequences. It is also considered impolite to refuse an invitation to someone's home. Finally, punctuality is not highly valued in Saudi Arabian culture, so do not be offended if your hosts or colleagues are late for meetings or social events," said one person in Najran.
