Expats should be aware that the city is quite small and the infrastructure is not as developed as in other parts of Vietnam. English is not widely spoken, so it is important to learn some basic Vietnamese before moving to Phan Thiet. The cost of living is relatively low, but expats should be aware that there are limited job opportunities in the city. "One option for finding a place to live in Phan Thiet is to search online for rental listings. Websites such as Expat.com, Vietnam Real Estate, and Vietnam Housing offer a variety of rental listings in the area. Additionally, you can search for rental listings on popular classifieds websites such as Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. You can also contact local real estate agents in the area to inquire about available rental properties. Additionally, you can ask friends and family who live in the area for recommendations," wrote a member in Phan Thiet.

"Pure business matter; we could lease an industrial land plot on good conditions; housing was more difficult because of regulations at that moment," commented one expat who made the move to Phan Thiet.

"I live in a 1 bedroom house in the back of my office, for the sake of security. this is not typical for expats, for a 2 bedroom house in this area you pay around 500 US$," remarked one expat living in Phan Thiet, Vietnam.

Many have balconies or terraces with views of the ocean or the city. The apartments are usually spacious and well-furnished, with plenty of storage space. Expat homes and apartments in Phan Thiet are typically located in secure, gated communities with access to amenities such as swimming pools, gyms, and playgrounds," wrote one member in Phan Thiet.

What is the average cost of housing in Phan Thiet?

"Housing cost is much lower than in Europe; my house rental (include my office) is 150 US$, electricity, water and gas and cable TV is around 150 US$; food cost me about 400 US$ / month. I don't eat meat a lot; price for pork for instance, doubled since 1 year ago. 1 night partying cost me around 100 US$ (Whiskey or cognac, soft drinks and tip for the waitress)," commented one expat who made the move to Phan Thiet.

Prices vary depending on the size and location of the property, but the average cost for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center is typically around $200 to $300 per month.
