It's a modern city but not nearly as busy as Bangkok. All of the major hotels are here. There is a great mix of modern shopping malls and old markets. My apartment is small but there's just one of me. It's 33 sq. meters. A bedroom, combined kitchen/living room, and a bathroom with a big shower. The building is two years old. It's one block from the ocean and a five-minute walk to a gorgeous shopping mall with grocery store. There is a lovely pool and gym. I am paying 10,000 baht - as of October 2022 that's CDN$400 per month. I'm from Vancouver, Canada. A comparable apartment would be $2000 a month in Vancouver," explained one person living in Thailand.

We asked foreigners in Hua Hin what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included...

"Expats searching for homes in Hua Hin typically start by researching the local real estate market online, browsing property listings on websites such as DDProperty, Hipflat, and Property Hua Hin. They may also join expat forums and social media groups to gather recommendations and advice from fellow expats who have already gone through the process of finding a home in Hua Hin. In addition to online research, expats often visit local real estate agencies to speak with agents who have experience working with foreigners and can help navigate the Thai property market. These agents can provide valuable insights into the best neighborhoods, property types, and price ranges for their specific needs and preferences. Expats may also network with other expats living in Hua Hin, as they can provide firsthand experiences and recommendations for finding a home in the area. This can be done through social events, meetups, or simply by striking up conversations with other foreigners in the community. When viewing properties, expats should consider factors such as proximity to amenities, transportation, schools, and healthcare facilities, as well as the overall safety and security of the neighborhood. It's also important to be aware of any legal restrictions or requirements for foreigners purchasing property in Thailand, such as the need for a Thai company to own the land on which a house is built. Finally, expats should be prepared to negotiate on the price of a property, as this is a common practice in the Thai real estate market. Working with a knowledgeable real estate agent can be helpful in navigating these negotiations and ensuring a fair deal is reached," explained one person living in Hua Hin, Thailand.
