"When deciding whether to buy or rent a home in Antalya, it is important to consider your budget, lifestyle, and long-term plans. Buying a home in Antalya can be a great investment, as the city is a popular tourist destination and real estate prices are expected to rise in the future. However, it is important to consider the costs associated with buying a home, such as closing costs, taxes, and maintenance. Renting a home in Antalya can be a more affordable option, and it can provide more flexibility if you are not sure how long you will be living in the city. Ultimately, the decision to buy or rent a home in Antalya should be based on your individual needs and preferences," said one person in Antalya.

"I had a house built after buying a plot of land with a Turkish friend. It is not difficult to buy property here, but despite what UK and Turkish real estate agencies that you do not need to use a Avukat (lawyer) i recommend you use one. It is best to ask other expats which lawyer they used, as like anywhere, some are better than others. Renting is quite straightforward, although in some cases you are required to pay upfront a payment for anything from one month to one year in advance," remarked one foreigner who made the move to Antalya.

We asked foreigners in Antalya what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included...

"Expats searching for homes in Antalya often begin their search online, browsing through real estate websites and portals that cater to international buyers. They may also join expat forums and social media groups to gather recommendations and insights from fellow expats who have already gone through the home-buying process in Antalya. Another option for expats is to work with a local real estate agent who is familiar with the area and can help navigate the Turkish property market. These agents can provide valuable advice on the best neighborhoods, property types, and price ranges to suit the expat's needs and preferences. Expats may also visit open houses and schedule property viewings to get a firsthand look at potential homes. This allows them to assess the condition of the property, its location, and the surrounding neighborhood. Additionally, expats may consult with a lawyer who specializes in Turkish property law to ensure they understand the legal requirements and processes involved in purchasing a home in Antalya. This can help avoid any potential issues or complications during the transaction. Finally, networking with other expats and locals in Antalya can be a valuable resource for finding potential homes that may not be listed on real estate websites or advertised through agents. Word-of-mouth recommendations can often lead to great finds in the local property market," said one foreigner living in Antalya, Turkey.
