In 2014, the government of Sharjah introduced a law that permits non-UAE nationals to own property in specific areas designated for foreign ownership. These areas are usually freehold zones or investment areas, where foreigners can buy property on a leasehold basis for a period of up to 100 years. However, foreign ownership is limited to residential properties, and non-GCC nationals are not allowed to own land in Sharjah. It is essential for foreigners to be aware of these regulations and consult with local experts before purchasing property in Sharjah," said one in Sharjah.
What appliances are typically included in a rental?
We asked foreigners in Sharjah what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:
"In a rental property in Sharjah, tenants can typically expect to find a refrigerator, stove, oven, washing machine, and air conditioning unit. Additionally, some properties may include a dishwasher, microwave, and other small appliances," said one person in Sharjah.
