"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Seattle. There are no restrictions on foreign ownership of real estate in the state of Washington. However, foreign buyers may be subject to additional taxes and fees, such as the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA) and the Non-Resident Real Estate Excise Tax (REET). Additionally, foreign buyers may need to obtain a visa or other documentation in order to purchase property in the United States," wrote one expat who made the move to Seattle.
