Ultimately, buy or rent will depend on an individual's financial situation, where they are in their life, and the personal preference of each individual," explained one person living in Saipan, United States.

"Foreigners are allowed to own property in Saipan, but with certain restrictions. The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), which includes Saipan, has a law that limits land ownership to people of Northern Marianas descent. However, foreigners can still acquire property through long-term leases, typically up to 55 years, with options to renew. This allows foreigners to have control over the property and make improvements, but they will not have full ownership rights," said one expat in Saipan.

"In a rental property in Saipan, you can typically expect to find essential appliances such as a refrigerator, stove, and oven.
