What is the average cost of housing in Verona?

If you are thinking about moving to Verona, cost of living in probably a key consideration. Expats commented about the cost of housing:

"The cost of housing in Verona can vary greatly depending on the size and location of the property. Generally, the average cost of a one-bedroom apartment in the city center is around €800-€1,000 per month, while a two-bedroom apartment can cost up to €1,500 per month. Prices outside of the city center tend to be lower, with one-bedroom apartments costing around €600-€800 per month and two-bedroom apartments costing up to €1,000 per month," explained one person living in Verona, Italy.

Should I buy or rent a home in Verona?

If you have not spent a lot of time in Verona, you should rent before even thinking about buying. We asked expats there about the buy vs. rent decision:

"Whether buying or renting a home in Verona is the best option for you depends largely on your personal circumstances. The advantages of buying a home in Verona generally include the potential for capital growth and the ability to take advantage of favourable home loan interest rates. Renting can be beneficial if you'd like to avoid the considerable costs associated with homeowner, such as the purchase price, stamp duties and ongoing maintenance costs. Ultimately, you should carefully consider your finances and lifestyle requirements when deciding whether to buy or rent in Verona," explained one expat living in Verona, Italy.

What do I need to know when buying property in Verona?

When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Verona, they said:

"When buying property in Verona, it is important to research the local market and familiarize yourself with the local laws and regulations. It is also important to understand the tax implications of buying property in Italy, as well as the costs associated with the purchase. It is also important to consider the location of the property, as well as the condition of the property and any potential renovations that may be necessary. Additionally, it is important to ensure that the property is free from any legal issues or encumbrances. Finally, it is important to work with a qualified real estate agent or lawyer to ensure that the purchase process is completed correctly," said one expat in Verona.

Are foreigners allowed to own property in Verona?

"Rental properties in Verona typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, and washing machine. Some properties may also include a dishwasher, microwave, and other small kitchen appliances. Additionally, some properties may include air conditioning, heating, and other amenities," explained one person living in Verona, Italy.
