What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Taipei?

Answer this Question

We asked expat moms who gave birth in Taipei about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...

"1. Make sure to research the healthcare system in Taiwan and find a doctor or midwife that you trust and feel comfortable with. 2. Consider taking a childbirth education class to learn more about the birthing process and what to expect. 3. Make sure to register your baby with the local government office as soon as possible to ensure that your child has the necessary documents to live in Taiwan. 4. Join a local expat group or online forum to connect with other expats who have had babies in Taiwan and can provide advice and support. 5. Consider hiring a doula or birth assistant to help you during the labor and delivery process. 6. Make sure to have a plan in place for postpartum care, such as finding a pediatrician and arranging for help with childcare," remarked another expat who made the move to Taipei, Taiwan.
