What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Rome?
We asked expat moms who gave birth in Rome about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...
"1. Make sure to research the healthcare system in Rome and the surrounding area to ensure you have access to the best care for you and your baby. 2. Consider enrolling in a childbirth preparation class to help you prepare for the birth of your baby. 3. Familiarize yourself with the Italian language and culture to make the transition to parenthood easier. 4. Connect with other expat parents in Rome to get advice and support. 5. Take advantage of the many parks and outdoor spaces in Rome to get out and enjoy the city with your baby. 6. Make sure to register your baby with the Italian authorities to ensure they have access to the necessary services," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Rome, Italy.
"Don't waste your time and money on private clinics. Maybe they will have nicer looking reception and not so many people waiting, but the best professionals are working in large state hospitals, best equipment end supplies are there either. One of my friends had a horrible experience in one of the most popular private clinics - Artemisia," commented one expat who made the move to Rome, Italy.
