What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Mazatlan?
We asked expat moms who gave birth in Mazatlan about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...
"When having a baby in Mazatlan, it is important to research the different healthcare options available as well as local childbirth classes and other resources related to childbirth and childcare. Additionally, take time before the birth to become familiar with the local hospital or clinic that you choose, including the staff and language requirements. Speaking Spanish may be beneficial in this process. It is also important to consult your healthcare provider about the recommended vaccinations for infants in Mexico and ensure that your home has the necessary supplies for a newborn baby. Be sure to research different care options for infants and childcare centers, as well as the rules and regulations around these services. Lastly, if you plan to travel away from home with your baby, be sure to seek advice from your travel doctor and take appropriate precautions to ensure a safe journey," explained one expat living in Mazatlan, Mexico.
