What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Falmouth. They wrote...

"Expatriates in Falmouth may find it challenging to adjust to the slower pace of life and the emphasis on communal living. Another adjustment can be the Jamaican attitude towards time; Jamaicans often have a more relaxed attitude towards punctuality, which may take some getting used to for those more familiar with timely schedules. Additionally, language can pose another challenge since English is so widely spoken as the vernacular across the island. Finally, expats may also need to adjust to the vibrant and loud culture, which can be quite different from other Caribbean islands and countries," said another expat in Falmouth, Jamaica, Jamaica.
