What are healthcare services like in Rio de Janeiro?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Rio de Janeiro. They wrote...

"Rio de Janeiro offers a wide range of healthcare services, including public and private hospitals, clinics, and health centers. The public healthcare system is provided by the Brazilian government and is free for all citizens. Private healthcare services are also available and are generally of a higher quality than public services. In addition, Rio de Janeiro has a number of specialized medical centers that provide specialized care for specific conditions. The city also has a number of pharmacies and health stores that provide a variety of medications and health products," remarked another expat who made the move to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
