What do I need to know before moving to Patzcuaro?

Answer this Question

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Patzcuaro, they said...

"Patzcuaro is a charming and historic city located in the mountains of Michoacan state, Mexico. Expats moving to the area should be aware that the temperature in Patzcuaro can vary greatly throughout the year, ranging from warm during the day in the summer to cold during the night in the winter. Expats should be prepared for this variation with clothing and other weather-related needs. It is also important to remember that the city is a tourist destination, and prices may be higher than in other parts of Mexico. Due to safety concerns, it is recommended that expats seriously consider avoiding certain parts of the city and surrounding areas at night. Additionally, it is important to be aware that the official language of Patzcuaro is Spanish, so brushing up on language skills is recommended," said another expat in Patzcuaro, Mexico.
