What do people like (and dislike) about Malacca?
When we asked expats and global nomads what they like and dislike about living in Malacca, they replied...
"Expats and digital nomads generally like living in Malacca, for its rich history, diverse culture, and beautiful architecture. They appreciate the laid-back atmosphere, friendly locals, and the relatively low cost of living. The city offers a variety of delicious local and international cuisine, as well as numerous cafes and coworking spaces, which cater to the needs of digital nomads. However, there are also some aspects that expats and digital nomads may dislike about living in Malacca. The public transportation system is not as efficient as in other major cities, making it challenging to get around without a car or motorbike. The hot and humid climate can be uncomfortable for some, and the city can get crowded with tourists during peak seasons. Additionally, while English is widely spoken, the language barrier can still be an issue when dealing with local authorities or service providers. Finally, the internet speed may not be as fast or reliable as in other digital nomad hubs, which can be a significant drawback for those who rely on a stable connection for work," remarked another expat in Malacca, Malaysia.
