"To apply for a visa to Guadalajara, individuals must file an application with the local Mexican Embassy or Consulate. The application requires applicants to provide proof of sufficient funds, as well as documentation demonstrating the purpose of the visit. Depending on the type of visa, additional documents such as a job offer letter, a student acceptance letter or proof of family ties may be required. Applicants may also be required to provide proof of medical insurance. Those interested in applying for residency can do so after receiving a valid visa. To receive residency, individuals must apply by submitting an application to the National Institute of Migration (INM) in Mexico. They will also need to provide documentation that demonstrates their income, proof of a valid rental contract if they plan on renting accommodation and a copy of their valid Mexican visa. Finally, applicants must pay the residency fee, currently set at approximately US$350. Once the application is approved, a residency card will be provided," said a member in Guadalajara, Mexico.
