Where should I setup a bank account in India?
We asked expats in India what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...
"1. Make sure to research the visa and visa renewal requirements before planning a move to India, as the process can be lengthy and permits may require regular renewal. 2. India is home to a diverse range of cultures and faiths; it is important to familiarise yourself with the local customs and religious practices in the area you are considering moving to. 3. Healthcare is generally not free in India; expats should make sure to arrange appropriate health insurance to cover any medical costs incurred during their stay. 4. Transportation in India can be crowded and uncomfortable, so try to familiarise yourself with both public and private transport options prior to arriving. 5. Expats should also be aware of potential heat, humidity and pollution issues in certain areas of India and the potential effects on their health, particularly during the Summer months," wrote a member who made the move to India.
