As a foreigner living in Connecticut, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Connecticut if they have access to public healthcare in Connecticut. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"Yes, as a foreigner living in Connecticut, you will have access to public healthcare. Connecticut has a Medicaid program, which provides health coverage to low-income individuals and families. The program covers a wide range of services, including doctor visits, hospital stays, prescription drugs, and mental health services. In addition, Connecticut also has a Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) that provides health coverage to children in families with incomes too high to qualify for Medicaid. The quality of care provided by public healthcare in Connecticut is generally good, and the cost is usually much lower than private insurance," commented one expat who made the move to Connecticut.
