"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Romania. Non-EU citizens must obtain a permit from the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to purchase property in Romania. EU citizens are allowed to purchase property in Romania without a permit. However, they must register the property with the Romanian Land Registry. Additionally, foreign citizens are subject to the same taxes and fees as Romanian citizens when purchasing property in Romania," wrote a member who made the move to Romania.
