Where will I buy groceries and do other shopping in Uruguay?
When we asked people living in Uruguay about good local restaurants, they mentioned...
"People living in Uruguay typically buy groceries and do other shopping at supermarkets, local markets, and convenience stores. Many people also shop online for groceries and other items. Additionally, there are a variety of specialty stores, such as butchers, bakers, and fishmongers, where people can purchase specific items," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Uruguay.
"Most people shop at their local Ta-Ta Supermarket (equivalent to a Ralph's in California). There they carry everything that a normal supermarkets carries. Fruiterias, or fruit & vegetable stands, are available on every corner for delicious seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables. Your local corner bakery provides many fresh baked breads and goods," commented one expat who made the move to Paysandu, Uruguay.
