The Sansevero Chapel Museum, also known as the Capella Sansevero, is a celebrated historic museum located in the heart of Naples, Italy. This 18th-century chapel houses some of the most exquisite works of art from the Italian Baroque period, including the renowned "Veiled Christ" sculpture by Giuseppe Sanmartino. The museum is also famous for its intricate frescoes and a unique collection of anatomical machines – two human skeletons with a detailed rendering of the circulatory system. The chapel was commissioned by Raimondo di Sangro, Prince of Sansevero, who was a prominent Italian nobleman, inventor, and patron of the arts. His vision for the chapel was to create a family mausoleum as well as a showcase for artistic and scientific endeavors. Today, the Sansevero Chapel Museum stands as a testament to the creativity and intellectual curiosity of the Neapolitan aristocracy, drawing visitors from around the world to admire its artistic and historical treasures.
